Ministry Leader: Pastor John King

Our Worship Ministry is a dedicated team of musicians within our church family who are passionate about knowing Jesus and glorifying Him through music. We embrace a Contemporary Praise and Worship style, focusing solely on Jesus—who He is as God and what He has done for us. The purpose of our ministry is to create an environment where we can express thanks, praise, and adoration to Jesus through music, both individually and as a church family. Our “contemporary” sound features modern instruments like bass, acoustic and electric guitars, piano, synthesizers, and percussion such as drums, cajon, and djembe, all working together to lead hearts into worship.

Things to Consider:

Interested in Joining the Worship Ministry?
If you feel called to be a part of our Worship Ministry, please consider the following:
 1.  Is Calvary Chapel Elizabeth City your home church?  
  • We ask that our team members be rooted in our church family.
2.  Have you been faithfully attending for at least 3 months?
  • Consistent involvement and attendance are important to build unity and trust within the ministry.
3.  Do you have a heart of worship?
  • Our focus is to glorify Jesus through our musical gifts, not to showcase talent. A genuine desire to honor Him is essential.
4.  Do you have a heart of commitment?
  • We require regular church attendance and encourage involvement in other ministry opportunities as well.
5.  Are you proficient in your musical gifting?
  • While we don’t expect perfection, we do ask that you are technically competent, comfortable on stage, and able to contribute musically.
6.  Are you committed to a positive team environment?
  • This includes being modestly dressed, consistently on time, prepared with your music, willing to adjust as needed, and able to follow directives from our Pastoral Team.
